Thorium car? Fill up on this…

securedownload

Yeah….not only is it cool to look at, but how would you like to ‘fill up’ only once…….in 100 years?

First let’s define thorium:   a grayish-white, lustrous, somewhat ductile and malleable, radioactive metallic element present in monazite: used as a source of nuclear energy, as a coating on sun-lamp and vacuum-tube filament coatings, and in alloys. Symbol:  Th; atomic weight:  232.038; atomic number:  90; specific gravity:  11.7. (source: dictionary.com)

So basically it’s a radioactive metallic chemical element.

Ok, so Laser Power Systems (LPS) from Connecticut,  has been developing a new method of automotive propulsion with one of the most dense materials known in nature: thorium. Because thorium is so dense it has the potential to produce tremendous amounts of heat. The company has been experimenting with small bits of thorium, creating a laser that heats water, produces steam and powers a mini turbine.

The engine currently weighs 500lbs, which can easily fit inside the engine area of their current model.  Only one gram of the substance yields more energy than 7,396 gallons (28,000 L) of gasoline and 8 grams would power the typical car for a century!!

So, is thorium the way to go?  Well, it’s cheap, abundant and could provide safe, emissions-free power for hundreds of years….however, only “Eight kilograms of uranium-233 can be used for a nuclear weapon,” says Stephen Ashley of the University of Cambridge.  The bigger threat is that a country pursuing nuclear energy and nuclear weapons (say, Iran) could make both from thorium. “This technology could have a dual civilian and military use,” Ashley says. ONE MORE THING: (And yes, just in case you were wondering, the element thorium really is named after Thor, the Norse god of thunder. And yes, Norse mythology originated from Norway, where Thor Energy is based. Coincidence, I think not!) source:  Sebastian Anthony

dropping acid? acid vs alkaline foods…

ph-scale

Ahh…..ye old pH Scale…. so what is it?

The pH scale (p standing for potenz or power, and h standing for hydrogen) measures the level of acid vs alkaline.  The scale starts at 1 (which is the most acidic) and ends at 14 (which is the most alkaline).  Obviously the 7 is in the middle of the road and is neutral.

  • Who cares?  Well, apparently your body does.  Everything you eat or drink will have a pH above or below 7.  This means that your body has to work harder to maintain a proper blood pH.

Did you know that EVERY DISEASE KNOWN TO MAN can only exist in an acidic environment Yikes!  So you can safely assume that an acid/alkaline balance can affect a plethora of health concerns!

Most Americans on the standard American diet, are most likely to going to be too acidic (too low in pH) with a level below 7.  So even if you want to achieve or maintain healthy weight loss you need to UP your pH!  Go Alkaline!

  • How?  First you can request a ph blood test so you can see if you are low on the scale.  Dr. Robert O. Young has authored several books and has a very helpful website, http://www.phmiracleliving.com/.  He says it takes about 3 to 4 months for the body to recycle all its blood cells, so you get a whole slew of new blood cells every 3-4 months.  So a mere 12 weeks out of your life, you can jump on his pH program so you will be at the peak of health!

Here are a few of his recommendations:

  1. Hydrate
  2. Eat right
  3. Exercise
  4. Take proper supplements
  5. Take care of your heart, mind and soul
  6. Set goals
  7. Clean yourself from the inside out

It’s all about good choices….make the right ones and start living NOW!

wanna go to Hong Kong? I noah guy…..

01-children

Billionaire brothers built a 450 ft long life-size replica of Noah’s Ark in Hong Kong. ( After their father died of a heart attack in 1990, Thomas and Raymond Kwok, now 60 and 59, helped expand the family business, Sun Hung Kai Properties, into Hong Kong’s largest real estate developer. The evangelical Christians control a combined fortune of about $15 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.)

Having been built, according to the Bible, thousands of years ago, Noah’s Ark has only ever existed in peoples’ imaginations, but not anymore.
A group of architects who pondered what the Biblical vessel looked like have turned their dreams into reality by constructing a Noah’s Ark replica, complete with animals.

Thomas, Walter and Raymond’s land-bound Ark certainly has dimensions on a Biblical scale, measuring a massive 450 ft long and 75 ft wide.

The tourists go in two-by-two: The Noah’s Ark Theme Park, complete with fiberglass animals, sits in front of the Tsing Ma Bridge in Hong Kong.

Water sight: The Ark also boasts less authentic Biblical touches such as double-glazed windows and a fine dining restaurant.
The billionaire brothers who built the Ark in Hong Kong claim it is the only full-scale version in the world.
And the imaginative trio even attempted to give the giant boat an air of authenticity by placing 67 pairs of animals at the entrance, just like the pairs of creatures saved from the Great Flood by Noah in the Bible tale.
The creationist-inspired vessel forms part of a theme park near Hong Kong which was inspired by a young girl’s scrawled drawing of the mammoth boat.
Architects appear to have used some artistic license in parts of the Ark – for instance including double-glazed windows, a fine dining restaurant and luxurious bedrooms.
Inside, real-life exotic animals can be found – including a nautilus, a toucan and reams of fish.
All lit up: The Ark shines under Hong Kong’s lights as a fiberglass giraffe stands guard near the entrance.

The Noah’s Ark Theme Park is now run by Christian organizations, who use it to promote peace and unity.  Matthew Pine, manager of Noah’s Ark Theme Park, said: They had a vision to do something remarkable, something outstanding.

Bed for the night: Guests on board Noah’s Ark can also stay on the Biblical vessel in one of its luxurious hotel-style rooms.
securedownload Matthew added: ‘The reason we chose that moment in the Bible’s story is because this is the message we want to bring to Hong Kong, to China, to the world. In our lives we always face floods, we will face trials, we will face difficulties.
‘Hopefully Noah’s Ark will inspire people to pass  through those troubles as Noah did in his day.’ The Ark opened in May 2009, 17 years after plans were first made for the enormous structure.FINAL THOUGHTS:  If you decide to make a trip to Hong Kong, to visit the Ark…….watch where you step…

don’t get all wishy-washy about a detox bath…

Oh, you dirty thing, you!!  You need a bath!!  A detox bath!

A trip over to Wikihow gave me exact directions on how to have a fabulous detox bath while eliminating toxins and absorbing  minerals and nutrients from the bath water.  Some use mineral clays, aromatherapy oils, seaweeds and enzyme herbs to draw the toxins out of the body through the skin, but this recipe is using common products such as, epsom salts, baking soda and a little ginger.

Here are the steps to get you on your way to good health:

  • Prepare your bath on a day that you have at least 40 minutes available. The first 20 minutes are said to help your body remove the toxins, while the second 20 minutes are for absorbing the minerals in the water.
  • Fill your tub with comfortably hot water. Use a chlorine filter if possible.
  • Add Epsom salts (a.k.a. magnesium sulfate). Soaking in Epsom salt actually helps replenish the body’s magnesium levels, combating hypertension.[1] The sulfate flushes toxins and helps form proteins in brain tissue and joints.[2] Epsom salt is very inexpensive. It can be purchased in decently sized bags or cartons at discount stores in the garden center or pharmaceutical area. Very large bags can be ordered from garden centers.  (For adults 100lbs or more, use 2 cups or more to a standard bath)
  • Add 1 to 2 cups or more of baking soda (a.k.a. sodium bicarbonate). Baking soda is known for its cleansing ability and even has antifungal properties.[3] It also leaves skin very soft. Large bags can usually be found in the swimming pool chemical area, but the boxes from the bakery aisle will work fine.
  • Add ground ginger or fresh ginger tea (optional). Ginger is heating to the body and may cause your skin to turn slightly red for a few minutes, so be careful with the amount you add. Depending on the capacity of your tub, and your sensitivity, anywhere from 1 tablespoon to 1/3 cup can be added.  (Most people sweat profusely with the addition of the ginger, and if you wrap your body in a blanket immediately after getting out of the tub, you can continue to detoxify through perspiration for another couple of hours. This is especially beneficial if you are trying to rid the body of a bug of some sort, like the flu, or a cold).
  • Add aromatherapy oils (optional). There are many oils that will help the bath to be a pleasant and relaxing experience (such as lavender and ylang ylang) as well as those that will assist in the detoxification process (tea tree oil or eucalyptus). Around 20 drops is sufficient for a standard bath.  (If you prefer, you can use fresh herbs. Add mint leaves (warming), lavender flowers (soothing), chamomile (soothing), or anything else that suits your mood.)
  • Swish all of the ingredients around in the tub, then soak. Again, 40 minutes is recommended (the longer the better), but aim for at least 20. You should start sweating within the first few minutes. (If you feel too hot, start adding cold water into the tub until you cool off.)
  • Get out of the tub slowly and carefully. Your body has been working hard and you may get lightheaded or feel weak and drained. On top of that, the salts make your tub slippery, so stand with care.  This might be a good time to call in someone you don’t mind seeing you in the raw,  to help you out of the tub.
  • Drink plenty of water. Any time your body detoxes (after this type of bath, a massage, or chiropractic work, for example), you need to flush out toxins. If you don’t, you will likely feel sick afterwards.

Remember…detoxing is a lifestyle therapy and cleansing foods and juices can optimize your detox program.  As with all new therapies, please consult your doctor or health practitioner before beginning any new therapy, even if it is just a detox bath.

EXTRA TIPS…….

  • A bath of Epsom salt and baking soda bath is detoxing in and of itself, but other items can be added for further effects.
  • Don’t eat immediately before or after the bath.
  • It’s also a good idea to drink water before and during your bath, especially if you’re feeling overheated from the tub water.
  • Dry brush your skin before the bath for further benefits.
  • Relax for the rest of the day and allow your body to continue to detoxify and heal itself.
  • Have your towel nearby the tub and ready so that you can wrap up immediately and continue the detox.
  • Shower off the Epsom salts if desired, but it’s not necessary.
  • Other additives used by some are grapefruit seed oil, rosemary, and thyme.

WARNINGS:

  • Avoid putting hydrogen peroxide in your bath. As an oxidizing agent, it can have corrosive effects on your skin.[4]
  • Do not take a hot bath or a detox bath if you are pregnant, or have heart, kidney, or any other health issues.

Here’s the skinny on….skin

What is detoxification?

Detoxification  is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, kidneys, liver, lungs, lymph and skin.  Our bodies do it everyday, naturally!

There are different types of cleanses and they each come in all shapes and sizes to be tailored to your individual needs.

Today I thought we would talk about a skin cleanse.  Everything that is going on inside you shows up on your skin.  It’s our largest organ of elimination and detoxification.  Think about it….when your colon becomes overloaded or your liver can’t efficiently filter the toxins coming from the digestive tract, your skin will begin to sweat them out, through rashes or boils.

Eeew.

Our skin mirrors our emotions and our hormone balance, also.  Most of us are toxic to some degree.  Dr. Colbert says in his book, The Seven Pillars of Health, “It’s similiar to forgetting to take the trash cans to the curb on trash day, and the garbage piles up in your garage.  Your cans eventually overflow, and the stench worsens.  You feel sick just walking near them.  After a few weeks the smell of the garbage is so bad that you can even smell it inside the house.”

Got Stress?  It’s going to show up on our bodies through our skin texture, spots and blemishes.  You will lack energy, start experiencing environmental and food allergies and develop excessive mucus production.  And don’t even get me started on how it can throw a woman’s hormone balance off!

However there IS good newsOur diet is the quickest way to change our looks! Remember living foods? Our food is a gift, a blessing from God!  He wants us to enjoy our food and gave us many choices!  The term, ‘vegetable’ refers to foods we obtain from the leaves, stems, flower clusters, roots, tubers, seeds or fruits of plants.  They are loades with complex carbohydrates,  amino acids and essential fatty acids.

Here is what Dr. Rex Russell says in his book, What the Bible says about Healthy Living:

Three Principles God wants us to use for healthier lives

  1. Eat only substances God created for food.  Avoid what is not designed for food.
  2. As much as possible, eat foods as they were created – before they are changed or converted into something humans think might be better.
  3. Avoid food addictions.  Don’t let any food or drink become your god.

It is also essential to begin healing the skin from within, starting with the least expensive treat:  WATER!  Be sure to drink plenty of this gift!  Water is the single most important nutrient four our bodies and is considered a ‘miracle cure’ for many health conditions.

Here is a great detox water refresher!

3 quarts of pure water

2 lemons, sliced

1/2 cucumber, sliced

10-12 mint leaves

Add ingredients to water and let infuse overnight.

So, we’re eating clean, living foods and drinking sufficient amounts of water…..what else?  Stick around…….tomorrow we are going to take a bath…….together.
