Remember Montgomery Ward’s? Of course, when we were younger we called it Monkey Ward’s…. and don’t ask me why, just a silliness, I suppose.
Well, according to the Montgomery Ward’s 1934 Christmas Catalog, you could make some pretty good deals purchasing items from their store. What woman can resist a pair of shoes for $1.77, and who knew they had baby chicks??

I LOVE those!! Gosh – baby chicks, seriously?? How did they ship those??
One thing I loved in those ads, and wish would come back — HATS.
Yes! The only hats around now are the beach hats….and you do NOT want to see me in a ball cap. It just doesn’t work.

Loved wearing hats to luncheon meetings and church, helped on a bad hair day. Miss the most, white gloves, helped on bad nail days….Always carried an extra pair because if you touched your face, makeup ruined the first pair. Happened often. Those were the good old day.s
Gloves also helps when you have to shake a hand….or hold onto a handrail….Hmm…now I sound like a germ-o-phob!!!
