surrender…

Every action has a reaction….We have all heard that before, yet what is your first reaction when you come across a difficult circumstance that seems impossible?

Are you someone that goes into ‘overdrive’ looking for an answer or a way out?  Or do you curl up in defeat, declaring the situation hopeless, or just trying to avoid it altogether?

When I was a little girl, I used to be the latter.  When a difficult situation would arise, I would generally go to sleep.  Maybe, just maybe, it would resolve before I woke up.

However, as a mature christian, we should immediately turn to Christ, seeking His guidance.  And rather than saying, “Oh Lord, what am I going to do?”, which focuses on our actions, we should say, “Oh Lord, what are YOU going to do?”

Now the focus is shifted to the omniscience and omnipotence of God!  He has the power to carry out His plan……which unlike our own solution……is perfect, and brings HIM glory!

Be willing to surrender all your plans into HIS hands.  He knows what to do, and how to accomplish it.  Your job is to be willing and obedient.

Now……trust Him!

  1. I have a fiery preacher friend (not a Skeens!) who says,
Instead of telling God how big your problems are,
tell your problems how big your GOD is!

    Love it!

  3. I needed a little encouragement…facing a little “improbable”–not impossible, but “unlikely” and this is what I needed to remember. Bless you. Debra
