a little more history…

Here are some really great pics…

There is a lot of history of the United States before and after WW II.  For anyone born in the late 20’s and early 30’s, these pictures exactly portray rural life during the years through the late 1940’s.  Homesteading in the midwest of the United States and Canada was the normal advancement of development and very often quite heartbreaking.

These were taken from color slides found at the Library of Congress and are dated between 1939-1943…and they look as though they were taken yesterday…enjoy.

  1. Those are amazing. You look at those old sepia photos and it paints the “olden” days with that brown haze. It’s so cool to see them in color – it makes them seem so much more real!

    Where do you FIND this stuff????

  2. I will go to jail rather than reveal my sources…..well, not jail, but maybe the mall….soo…. :)
